B&B Donna Eleonora

Breakfast was a real treat, with plenty of sweet and savory choices from local bakeries and homemade desserts. The two sisters were also very helpful, arranging our Matera tour and suggesting places to eat. We found the location ideal for exploring, with just a short walk from the little square to the central promenade. Our room and bathroom were both spotless, and arriving by car was easy, with free and paid parking close by. We stayed for two nights, and couldn’t have asked for more.

It’s a four-bedroom apartment, with a separate bathroom for each room. Right in the heart of the city, it’s well placed for exploring. The price is very reasonable, and breakfast is generous with local food. I’d definitely recommend it.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were lovely. We also enjoyed the breakfast, especially the Matera bread. It’s close to the Sassi, so I’d gladly recommend this B&B. Laura Chiavacci and Piera Reale

Even though we’d booked more than two months ahead, there was no room for us when we arrived. They told us they’d mistakenly assigned it to a couple, though there were three of us. They called the guest staying in the room and asked if his things could be taken out. He was understandably angry about people touching his belongings. When they opened the door, his things were all over the room, and they wanted to remove them without him there, clean the room, and move him somewhere else. We were left waiting for an hour and a half, and the staff yelled at us and treated us badly. We have photos and videos. In the end, Booking.com sent us to another hotel.
