B&B "Lo Straniero"

We were traveling as a family, and the owner made us feel at home straight away. The place is welcoming, with attractive, tasteful, design-focused furnishings. Our spacious room had a fairly large bathroom. It’s on the first floor, but there’s an elevator, which helped since we were using a wheelchair. Breakfast was very good. I might have liked a few more cured meats with the savory options, though otherwise everything was excellent.

We were very happy with our two nights here in Matera. The location is central and convenient, and Mrs. Teresa was warm and hospitable. Breakfast was generous and authentic. Since the B&B is on the main street, and we’d read reviews mentioning noise, we expected it to be loud. Closing the window and switching on the air conditioning is an option, though.

Mrs. Teresa was so welcoming and kind. She shared great suggestions for places around the city that are worth seeing and spots to eat, and we enjoyed chatting with her. The B&B is spotless, with a private bathroom and a generous, excellent breakfast. It’s very central, just right for exploring Matera, with the Sassi nearby and everything within 300 meters. We’ll be back!

There’s a lovely family feel here, thanks in no small part to Mrs. Teresa, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast, prepared by the owner, was plentiful and excellent, with local products. The property is near the Sassi, and our room and bathroom were well cared for, thoroughly clean, and smelled fresh. Highly recommended!
