The room was spotless, the beds were really comfortable, and the decor was amazing. Casa Contini itself felt special, and the hosts made it even better. They were there for us from arrival through departure, always ready to answer questions and make sure we had what we needed. Their warmth felt like staying with family. We were right in Matera's historic center, just a short walk from the Sassi and plenty of great restaurants and sights. Such a memorable stay in an extraordinary city. We can't wait to come back.

Mario was such a welcoming owner, and his house went beyond what we expected. The rooms are spacious, sparkling clean, and right in the center. Best BnB experience for us. He deserves five stars here and 10 points on Bookings.

Staying in this wonderful cave house was incredible, especially knowing the same family has had it since 1926. The host was marvelous and couldn't have been more helpful.

The owners were so kind and helpful. They even picked us up from the train station and took us back there after our visit. We loved having local wine on the peaceful terrace in the evening, and we'd move in if we could. The house is comfortable, thoughtfully decorated, and has everything needed for a great stay. It's on a quiet Sassi road with a view of the cave church, Santa Maria di Idris. If you want to feel Matera's character, this is a lovely place to stay. We hope to return soon.

The apartment is clean and spacious, with one of its two bedrooms set in a cave. It's right in the heart of "I Sassi". Mr. Mario is very kind, and his son Lorenzo gave us useful tips on places to visit and restaurants to try.
