The host screamed at us during checkout. We had messaged him at 7 am to say we'd be back at 11, but he attacked me over it, saying checkout was at 10. Booking said 11, which mattered because we'd planned to visit a museum that opens at 10 before checking out. When we returned at 10, as he rudely demanded, he started screaming at us for thinking we could check out at 11. We would have been right to do so, since that's what we paid for. He didn't even thank us. The worst experience ever. The owner was the most disrespectful person I've met. I'm always friendly, but he answered rudely every time, and it was clear he hated hosting tourists in his apartment. He's around 70 to 80 and lives in one of the rooms. The apartment smelled bad, like an old person's house. There was no hot water, just very cold water. When we complained, the owner said he kept the hot water off on purpose to save money and that cold showers were healthy. Washing my long hair took a long time, which made that awful. The fridge only worked when the room light was on, and it was super noisy. You'd have to choose between a working fridge and sleeping normally. Useless.
