The location is the only thing I liked. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was very basic, and breakfast was disappointing. At 193€/night, I don’t think the hotel offers enough for the price.

The hotel is newer and nicer, and the location is great, but more than half the rooms in our tour group had broken AC. We set it to 18, yet the temperature never dropped below 23.5 and it only blew warm air. It was September, so I can’t imagine staying there in July / August. They agreed to look into it when we asked, but their attitude made me feel they were just placating us. We were told AC works differently in Italy than in North America, which is a load of BS. Only stay here if you don’t mind losing sleep and sweating.

We really appreciated how easy it was to get around from here, especially in the 40C heat. The hotel is modern, just a one-minute walk from the main square, and perfectly placed for visiting Matera. There’s underground parking with an elevator, so loading and unloading bags is simple. Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was lovely, and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.
