Il Tempo Ritrovato

Tina was a wonderful host and left us lots of unexpected treats to eat. The place was spacious and had a nice little patio, and we loved its great location and cute feel. One of our favorite stays in five weeks of travel. We'd love to come back. The only downside was having to pay in cash. --Dawn and Alan

The Sassi district took our breath away, with its marvelous rock churches and all the beautiful, one-of-a-kind details that stay with you. We came back recently from a little holiday in Matera, and found that "Il tempo ritrovato" added to the magic of those old streets. The apartment was spotless, thoughtfully furnished, and had everything we needed. Mrs. Tina made us feel at home straight away. She was kind, friendly, and always available, and there were so many other nice touches. It's a wonderful place to stay, and we'll definitely be back. Thanks again, Mrs. Tina, we really enjoyed our stay!

Tina had put food in the fridge so we could have breakfast without worrying about a thing. That's a rare thoughtful touch in this kind of accommodation. She also showed us the must-see sights and recommended restaurants. Since our Italian is rather basic, she even called to book a table for us. A huge thank you to her! Her directions to the house were excellent, and she gave us a warm welcome. The traditional house itself is magnificent, tastefully decorated, and very well equipped, right in the Sassi district.

The house had everything we needed to feel at home, with sweets and breakfast supplies waiting for us. Tina even greeted us with a chalkboard message wishing us a Happy New Year. She clearly loves Matera and her homeland, and took such good care of us. Every detail helped make the setting comfortable and refined, in a charming home in a charming city. A magical place for people who love to travel, dream, and live.
