Suite Vittorio Veneto

We got a great deal for such a central spot, and the staff were lovely. A wonderful woman welcomed us and walked us through everything about the property and the city. Our room was clean and cute, with a balcony looking onto a lively square. The all-white interior may not suit everyone, but it worked well for our short stay. They also suggested a garage two minutes away and kindly booked it for us since we were arriving by car.

We booked directly with VV, and they were very helpful with arrival details, including where to park nearby. It’s right on the Square, which is busy outside, but the rooms are well soundproofed. Inside, everything was well furnished and spotless. The white interior made it easy to see how clean it was. Breakfast comes through vouchers for two cafes on the Square, rather than being served at VV. Caffe Tripoli was far better than Caffe Vittorio Veneto, with a very good election and service. I also wrote them a review. Stefania at VV Reception gave us great restaurant tips and other advice. We’d happily recommend staying here. We found this B&B (VV) online by chance. I’d originally booked another hotel in Matera, then cancelled because we wanted to be in town, which felt more convenient and accessible by car than staying in the Sassi de Matera. We’d also heard that staying in the caves for more than two nights might not be a great idea because of the humidity, and we were there for four nights. With lots of luggage, getting in and out of the sassi can also be difficult, since the ground is uneven and slippery in places.

The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and modern, and the location was perfect. The woman who helped us was always there when we needed assistance. Great value for the money. If I could give more than five stars, I would!

The rooms were clean and beautifully designed, and we had a great location. Our host was exceptional. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.
