Thymus Residence nei Sassi

We stayed in the cave spa suite and loved it. The pool and steam room were great, and the suite was immaculate and spacious. Wonderful hosts and a great location.

We felt completely immersed in Matera's deep history while staying at Thymus. The staff were incredible and made the whole visit unforgettable. We spent two nights in a cave room, and it went beyond what we'd expected. The room was huge, with a couch, two lounge chairs, and plenty of space for our luggage. The minibar had a good selection of local wines, which was handy. Breakfast was abundant, with fresh local food, a tasty, filling start before a day of exploring. Thymus is right in the Sassi, near lots of restaurants and a short walk from the hiking entrance to the Gravina. My husband and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone travelling to Matera.

The room was spacious, really clean, and had a well-stocked minibar. Breakfast in the morning was a delicious buffet, and they can help book local tours. After booking, they get in touch on WhatsApp with directions and check-in details. The service was great, and everything felt perfect. If I come back to Matera, I'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed in room 31, which had a lovely, clean private steam room. The room itself was designed with care and felt like a little sanctuary, luxurious and comfortable. Bora welcomed us to Thymus with warm smiles and plenty of good tips for sights and restaurants. Its location in the lower part of the Sassi was excellent, so we didn't have to carry our suitcases up too many stairs. We loved exploring charming Matera by day and night. Next time we'd like to try a room with a small private pool and jacuzzi. Can't wait to visit again!
