Nino is number one. He's interested in Matera and ready to share all the information you need. Festa La Bruna is on July 2, and it's worth being there. The stars say the rest.

Mr. Giuseppe was very kind and gave us a really useful map of Matera as soon as we arrived. The apartment is set in a former tavern. You come in to a living room with a sofa, table, and kitchen, then there's a double bedroom, another room with two single beds, and a comfortable bathroom. For breakfast he supplied yogurt, half a litre of milk, toast, Nutella, jam, snacks, and warm croissants, though they were frozen. If you want fresh croissants or brioches, Perrone bakery is only 500 metres away.

The owners were kind and helpful, suggesting places to eat, park, and visit. We had a great experience for a great price. They even let us check in without a reservation at around 7 pm. The place was clean and comfortable.
