I spent four months at Aparto in an Ensuite room during the autumn semester. It's modern and nicely furnished, and I enjoyed my stay enough that I'd book it again. They take care of a lot: the common kitchen is cleaned once a day and rooms are cleaned every two weeks. The rules can be strict, but they help make this the cleanest dorm I've ever seen. My only downside was that guests aren't allowed after 11 pm.

I spent about four months in a Premium Studio on the 10th floor at Aparto Giovenale during the spring semester. The room had its own bathroom and kitchenette. It wasn't large, but it was comfortable for one person, and I loved the view. The kitchenette had what I needed apart from an oven. The location worked well for me: two supermarkets, lots of cafes, three tram or bus stops, and the nearest metro within a 15-minute walk. The area felt very safe and was full of students. The weekly cleaning was a huge help while studying. Staff were careful with the details and even arranged my plushies cutely on the bed :3. They changed the linen and towels, mopped the floor, and cleaned the bathroom. I didn't have much storage, which seems common in student accommodation, but managed to fit everything in. The staff were super friendly. Reception is staffed around the clock, and they were always willing to answer questions. They took in lots of my deliveries and would even message me on WhatsApp when something arrived. I'll really miss the Aparto team. There are plenty of amenities: a gym, garden, basketball and tennis courts, table tennis, table pool, and table football. There are also two cafes in the building, which was handy for many of my friends. I did miss having meeting spaces such as booths for calls. There are lots of hangout areas for gatherings with friends, though you need to ask Aparto for permission first. A few rules and practical issues caught me out. Kitchen appliances have to be approved by Aparto staff, so you can't just buy a rice cooker, electric kettle, or similar item without approval. There isn't a list of prohibited items, but you can still be charged for “potential damages.” Staff make it clear at check-in that you can't hang things on the walls. The paint is fragile, and repairs cost 50€ per square meter. I wasn't careful enough when taping up my photos and ended up paying a big fee. Guests aren't allowed inside, so keep that in mind if you book a studio. The laundry room is small, so you have to work around the busy times. Washing costs 3.50€ per cycle and drying is 1.50€, with detergent included. Sometimes the machines broke. There are cameras throughout the building, and you need a key card to get in. You also can't access floors other than your own, which is annoying but adds safety. Still, a large amount of money disappeared from my room. The staff worked with me to try to find it, but we weren't successful :( As far as I know, other students had similar issues. It's expensive for Milan, but realistically, I don't think you'd find somewhere near Bocconi with so many amenities for less. Adding photos of my room, the view, and the collage that caused so much wall damage 😭😅

We stayed for a few nights with a friend, and it made the trip even more memorable. The apartment was really spacious and clean, with comfortable rooms and beds. The balcony was a lovely touch in the mornings. It's near the city center and easy to reach on foot or by public transport, with a Saturday market, a park, and lots of grocery stores nearby. The only thing to complain about, if anything, is the lack of cooking appliances. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Milan.

Aparto gives you a mix of hotel comfort, with a comfy room and helpful reception, and hostel perks like shared amenities and a community feel. We stayed two nights and had no complaints. The staff were amazing and made us feel at home straight away. They were also empathetic and helpful when a rental car company scammed us, and we had to stay an extra night and sort a few things out. In a city like Milan, especially in summer, it felt like an "oasi di pace".

Our daughter spent the past five months at Aparto Giovenale during an exchange semester at Bocconi University, and it gave her a safe, comfortable home and the chance to make lifelong friends. She had a private ensuite room and shared the kitchen and living space with four other exchange students. The room had everything she needed, and she was comfortable during her first time living away from home. As her parents, we were relieved by the safety measures. I visited for a week and can say the neighbourhood is safe and lively. Someone was always at reception, and residents had to use their key fobs several times to get to their rooms. The residence also had great amenities. Since most residents were exchange students, our daughter and her new friends spent many relaxed hours studying in the common rooms or playing pool, pickleball, and basketball on the outdoor courts. The location is excellent: a five-minute walk to Bocconi, ten minutes to the cafes and restaurants in Navigli, and about 25 minutes on foot to the Duomo and central Milan. Several tram stops are a short walk away, and a couple of supermarkets are right across the street. I strongly recommend Aparto to anyone planning an exchange semester in Milan. Grazie Aparto Giovenale!!
