Getting around Milan from the apartment was easy, and its location is perfect. Inside, though, it felt cold, with the air conditioning as the only way to warm it up. The small boiler didn’t provide much hot water, and the little round table barely fit two people for breakfast. Towels smelled odd and not very fresh, and cleanliness could be better. The mix of old and new furnishings wasn’t to my taste; clearing out some of the vintage furniture and old Italian books could make things feel cleaner and more modern. The internet was poor quality and should be replaced right away. I also didn’t feel entirely safe with just one door key, and the instructions to leave the external doors open seemed strange and unsettling.

The trains, trams, and buses made it easy to get around and see the sights. Milano Centrale railway station is very close, with the buses and trams even nearer. There are restaurants, cafes, mini supermarkets, a gelato shop, and gift shops nearby too. Inside, we found the mattress comfortable, and the kitchenette had what we needed for coffee and breakfast. The windows looked out over the area. It was noisy with them open, but quiet once shut. A washing machine was available, though there was no electric dryer. The building and courtyard had scaffolding while we were there because the roof was being repaired. We were told it should be finished by Christmas 2023. We had no hot water at first, apparently because earlier guests had switched it off, so ask about it if you have a problem. The owner lives next door.

The apartment was quiet, and the neighbors I met were really friendly. I’d absolutely stay here again if I return to Milan. It had a comfortable bedroom, a fully functional kitchen, dining and lounge area, plus a washer, dryer, and drying room. There was wifi and split system air conditioning too. Milano Centrale railway station is a two minute walk away, and the metro costs a couple of euro to ride. There’s also direct transit from the airport. The Duomo is a 20-30 minute walk, lovely early in the morning or late in the evening. Simple restaurants are close by, and even when I was out until 11PM, Uber still brought me delicious, authentic pizza. There was internal construction work in June 2023, but it didn’t cause any issues. Thanks for a beautiful stay. Writing this makes me want to come back!
