Casa Atellani feels like a little Renaissance corner in the center of the city, with a fairy-tale garden. The apartments are spacious, nicely furnished, and look out over Santa Maria delle Grazie church. It’s right across from Leonardo’s Last Supper, and the staff were helpful. I’d recommend it for a romantic stay in Milan.

The Atellani apartments pair contemporary design with one of the most beautiful historic settings. It’s a hidden gem in the city center, and I can’t imagine finding a better place to stay in Milan. I’ll definitely come back.

The building is across from the convent where The Last Supper is housed and shares its grounds with Leonardo da Vinci’s vineyard plot. If you stay at the apartments, you can visit the vineyard for free. It’s joined to a huge, lovely garden, and some parts of the building have been restored as a museum to show how they looked in the 15th century. The property is a bit far from the city center, though. The apartment itself was clean, modern, spacious, and full of light. It’s in a beautiful ivy-covered building with a very elegant facade.
