Breakfast was the best part: there was plenty to choose from, it seemed quite fresh, and the serving hours were long. The service was okay, though when we asked how to get to Duomo, they sent us the wrong way. The price is very high for what you get. There are definitely better and cheaper hotels in the same area, such as Duomo apartment hotel. This feels like a 4-star hotel from 50 years ago, far too outdated for 2026. Our room was falling apart: the bathroom light only worked sometimes, and the toilet had the same issue. The mini fridge was warm, there was no safe, and there was no air conditioning. There were also a few strange people and homeless people sleeping outside, and the staff didn’t seem concerned about the hotel’s appearance or safety. We only chose it because it was the cheapest option during the Olympic times, so it was a last resort. I’ll attach a photo of the hairdryer, it’s funny.

The people at Hotel Galileo made me feel appreciated and at home in Milan. I’ll definitely stay there again when I return, and they’ve gained a loyal patron. From arrival to departure, the staff made me feel like a regular guest rather than a visitor. Giulia at the front desk greeted me when I arrived and said goodbye when I left. She’s one of the sweetest, most welcoming people I met in Milan. Massimo at the night desk was friendly and professional whenever I came back in the early hours after enjoying the city. His help and humor made those late returns easy. Each morning Paola greeted me in the breakfast room with so much energy and kindness, almost like my personal assistant. The fresh-squeezed Sicilian orange juice she served was fantastic. I also spent time at the bar with Simon. We connected easily despite a bit of a language barrier. He’s a true gentleman and went out of his way to make sure I enjoyed myself, even though I’m currently not drinking alcohol. I didn’t catch the names of several other staff, but every interaction was warm, professional, and attentive. The team created a welcoming, personal atmosphere. Grazie di cuore a tutto il team dell’Hotel Galileo, mi avete fatto sentire come a casa a Milano 🖤

The location is very convenient and central, beside Duomo and the shops, although it can be noisy early in the morning. I’ve stayed twice, and both visits were very bad, with the worst sleep of my life. The hotel is extremely old and it shows everywhere. The carpet was dirty and badly discolored, including the spots under where chairs used to be. Half the plugs in my room, 209, didn’t work. The shower water stayed hot only if I didn’t adjust it after turning it on. If I did, it went cold and wouldn’t heat up again until I turned it off and back on. The walls must be paper thin because I could hear literally everything all night, especially loud, horrible water noises in the pipes, probably from neighboring rooms or rooms above. They’d wake anyone. Worst of all was the bed: one miserable pillow and a serious dent in the middle of the mattress. I’ve never slept on a dented mattress before. It was disgusting and awful.

The WiFi didn’t work, even after I asked the employees several times to fix it. They said there was nothing they could do. The staff don’t speak English, and the room was small for three people. The restroom was the worst part because it had no curtains. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.

The location is good, close to the Duomo and convenient for several restaurants, and breakfast was good. They don’t really have a bar, restaurant, or lunch service, though they do offer laundry service. There’s also a taxi-calling service that works pretty well. The front desk staff were unbelievably unfriendly, and the rooms were absolutely horrible. They might have been great in 1964, but they haven’t been touched since: the carpet was worn, and we had a broken chair. The electric outside shutters broke in the middle of the night and came down, letting sunlight into the room. They couldn’t bring us soap or fix the air conditioning, and the refrigerator door didn’t work. There was no coffee pot or safe either. This hotel is totally outdated and definitely not worth the price.
