Garibaldi Palace Hotel

The location was fantastic, and both the hotel and room were clean. Breakfast was great, and the room itself was lovely. The only thing that bothered us was the broken safe. Reception said the only option was to move rooms, which felt like a hassle.

The rooms were big and clean, as was the bathroom, and the shower had good pressure. Reception staff were friendly, and the breakfast itself was good quality with a wide choice of sweet and savory food. But breakfast service was a mess. We got there at 9:20 AM, with breakfast scheduled until 10:00, and there were no clean plates. A long line of guests was waiting outside the kitchen just to get one. We finally got two plates at 9:50, after about 30 minutes, by which time the buffet was completely empty. Staff initially said they wouldn't bring out more food because breakfast ended at 10:00. To be fair, after we complained at reception, they did bring some food directly to our table. You also can't get your own coffee; you have to order it from staff. It took 20 minutes for them to take our coffee order.

Hotel Garibaldi was a lovely place to stay in Milan, and we'd happily return and recommend it. The staff were friendly and professional, and we were welcomed with complimentary champagne in our room, a really nice surprise. There are plenty of attractions, restaurants, and public transport options within walking distance, so the overall stay was very enjoyable.

Mosquitoes in the room made it impossible to sleep. I asked for repellent or some other fix, but they didn't have anything. I couldn't get a single night's sleep. I'd advise people to stay away.
