Italianway - Piacenza

We booked a double room at the last minute and got the last one available, room 101, right by reception and behind the buffet. I don’t understand how it’s allowed to rent it out. It was the noisiest room I’ve ever slept in. People came back through the night, then from 6:00 we could hear employees making breakfast, brewing coffee, and dropping dishes on the table. We spoke to the owner in the morning, and it sounded like the room might be removed in the future. There was no discount, though, and we spent almost 200€ to sleep in a broom cupboard.

The metro is only a few steps away, and Milan Cathedral is just three stops from there. It’s a great spot on the edge of central Milan, and the hotel is clean. The staff are incredibly friendly. Simply excellent!

We booked at the last minute after our previous accommodation didn’t work out. The room was alright, but it needed to be much cleaner. The bathroom was filthy and needed a deep clean, with visible mold all over the shower. The AC didn’t work either, so we had to sleep with the patio door open for ventilation while it was raining. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

I paid 150 euros for two nights at Hotel Piacenza in Milan, and it felt like a complete waste of money. Both rooms I was given had broken air conditioning. Staff said it might get better after a while, but it never did. With August temperatures around 36-40°C, coming back to a hot, stuffy room was unbearable. When I reported it, the response felt dismissive. I was told to wait for hours, but nothing changed. I asked to switch rooms, and the new one had the same problem. I kept calling reception for help and got no answer. That kind of service is unacceptable when guests are uncomfortable. The facilities were poor and the service terrible. I strongly advise against staying here. Save your money and choose somewhere that takes guests’ comfort and concerns seriously.
