Milan Center Apartment

A great location and a friendly welcome.

We were left without anywhere to sleep in Milan during Fashion Week, and the owner's handling of our reservation felt inhumane and appalling. We had booked the weekend months ahead and stayed in touch on WhatsApp, including the day before, when we shared our flight time and apartment details. A transport strike delayed us, but we kept sending updates about where we were and when we expected to arrive. At about 11:30 PM, the owner asked for our documents to start check-in, and we sent them. We reached the door at 12:03 AM. Just a minute earlier, he had messaged that we were past midnight and the reservation was canceled. After that, he didn't reply to messages or answer calls. Milan was nearly fully booked, so we spent an hour and a half walking and asking for directions before finding a taxi to a hotel on the outskirts. He canceled the whole weekend, and the next day we couldn't access the apartment we'd paid for. What shocked us most was seeing that he had put it back on the market to fill it for the rest of the weekend. He had demanded prepayment, left us stranded, and then, as we see it, doubled his profit by renting it out the following day. It's the most shameful hospitality experience I've had. There was no compassion at all. Booking.com shouldn't work with people we consider so unprofessional and dishonest. Unacceptable.

We planned to stay an extra night, but the condition of the apartment made us leave instead. It was filthy and neglected, the beds were very uncomfortable, and we couldn't open the sofa bed. The washing machine was in the room, and the utensils were old and mismatched. On Saturday at 7:30 a.m., construction woke us up, with no warning from the owner. I can't recommend this accommodation.

The owners are exceptionally clean, welcoming, and helpful. The property has five recently renovated, very spacious apartments with all the comforts, suitable for couples or families on either business or leisure trips. It's quiet and just outside the historic center, with excellent access to Milan's attractions. Highly recommended.
