Hotel The Glamore Milano Duomo

The front desk team were so helpful and nice. Our room looked out toward The Duomo, with a great view and location. It had been recently renovated and was soundproof. We couldn't hear the Olympic festivities below or the loud music from the neighboring bars. The modern bedroom and bathroom have clean lines. One of the best features was the new closet system covering the wall by the entrance. It hid all four of our very large empty suitcases, and there was still plenty of room for hanging coats and clothes. The drawers are built in too. I liked both the look and the practicality, especially how much space it freed up. All in all, a win.

The rooms were nice, and the Duomo views were stunning. The metro is right underneath, and the location is fantastic. I gave it four stars because the amenities weren't exceptional and there isn't really a medium-sized shared space like a lobby. The service was top notch. Pavel and Andrei at the front desk were exceptional. When an event closure meant we couldn't drive near the hotel, Pavel went out of his way to meet us a few blocks away and escort us in. Breakfast was included, and I really enjoyed the service. Besida, Jennalene, and another female server were incredibly attentive and kind. Many thanks to all the employees, they were all incredible.

The location is excellent, but we won't stay here again. We spent five nights at The Glamore, and the service didn't match the price or the supposed five-star rating. We never felt like valued guests, and there are plenty of excellent hotels nearby. Our taxi couldn't drop us at the hotel because of nearby construction, so we ended up around the corner at the Park Hyatt. Their bellhop tried to reach someone at our hotel for luggage help, but got no response. Thankfully the Park Hyatt staff brought our luggage over. That kindness really stood out, but it didn't come from The Glamore. Check-in was confusing and disorganized. The front desk is on the third floor in a small, sparse space, and several emails I'd sent before arriving were ignored or misunderstood. Nobody seemed aware of them when we checked in. The staff lacked warmth and attentiveness. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, but short on amenities. There were only two small towels and two bath towels, not enough for someone with long hair who needs an extra one. There were no robes, which I'd expect at a true five-star property. After I asked for one, it was delivered, then oddly taken away while we were at dinner without explanation. I asked for another the next day, but it never came. Getting to our fifth-floor room meant walking through the restaurant, which was awkward and unusual. At checkout my husband took some luggage down, then had to go back upstairs for the rest because no bellhop was available. There wasn't even a phone in the area to call for help.

The balcony view at The Glamore was unforgettable, and the whole stay was amazing. The staff were great, especially the Filipino workers, whose service went beyond what I expected. I'll definitely come back!
