Hotel Trentina

The location was the one real positive, excellent and convenient. The rest of our stay was disappointing: the rooms were worn, poorly maintained, and not properly cleaned. Basic housekeeping seemed to be missing, which made the room uncomfortable. When we raised issues, staff were hard to reach and unhelpful. A good location couldn't make up for the poor cleanliness, room condition, and service.

The reception staff were a mixed bag, with some polite and others very dismissive. Rooms were worn and could use better doors, though the air conditioning worked well enough. There isn't a lift to the top two floors, which didn't bother me, but could be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Breakfast is very basic, though at least it doesn't cost extra. In general, it's okay if you aren't expecting much.

The second employee was very polite, and there were clean towels and disposable soap and shampoo. The old air conditioner worked, and the metro was close. Still, I'll never stay in this hostel again, especially since it wasn't even the cheapest option. There were ants in the room, mold in the shower, and cockroaches in the breakfast kitchen. I wasn't ready to take a photo of the cockroaches in time. The corridor walls had marks from rain. The manager, who introduced himself as the hotel administrator, was completely uncommunicative and answered every complaint by saying I could leave if I wanted.

It's basic, clean, and in a good location, which was just what we needed. After reading the reviews here I was a little worried, but I ended up pleasantly surprised. It isn't luxury, though you're not paying for luxury either.
