The room amenities were a bright spot: good linens, bathrobes and slippers, plus a minibar included. At dinner, the table service felt formal and attentive, and they provided silverware. The SPA has a good range of options, though things outside the wellness area affected the atmosphere. The main problem started with the room. We were given an unsolicited “upgrade” to the main villa, but attic room No. 5 felt like a downgrade. The ceiling was too low for anyone over 170 cm, there were only skylights and no windows, and it was cramped to move around in. The climate control was also inefficient and fixed at 25°C. The Turkish bath had been out of order for weeks, and we weren't told while booking. Small children were in areas meant to be silent, with no staff stepping in. We also had trouble communicating with some staff, and the response to our complaints lacked empathy. At checkout, their answers focused on internal logistics rather than our comfort. Breakfast wasn't at a 5-star level, and it was handled separately from the main restaurant. The technical execution at “L'Officina” could use work too. Parking was uncovered and unsupervised, about 200 meters from the property. It feels like cost cutting in operations and staffing is getting in the way of the property's reputation. What they offer seems closer to 4-star quality. They should either scale back their promises or invest seriously in the gaps.
