B&B Dora e Flavio

The owner called at 11:00 a.m. to say there was no room for me, even though I’d booked a single room on Booking.com for Saturday, June 21st, with free cancellation and payment at the property. When I asked why, he rudely said I hadn’t paid a deposit and blamed Booking. ZERO professionalism.

There’s no breakfast in the rate, and you pay extra if you want one. Parking is difficult, and the rooms only have the essentials. The B&B sits out in the countryside, far from the town center and near the railway, where the trains make it hard to sleep. The manager is cold and doesn’t communicate much, which makes a pleasant stay difficult. The building may have been beautiful once, but now it feels old and neglected.

My booking through Booking.com had already been paid, but shortly before I was due to arrive, I was told it was invalid for some mysterious reason. They said not to come and offered no alternative. From what other reviews say, this seems to happen fairly often. I’d stay well away.

The breakfast was plentiful, and there’s a pizzeria just a few minutes away for dinner. We were two couples staying for one night and left very happy. The owners were helpful right after we booked, sending directions, and the rooms looked just like the photos: lovely, well cared for, and welcoming.
