The rooms were spacious and clean, and the scenery was nice. Staff were friendly, though communicating in English was a little difficult. After we’d paid in advance, they accidentally tried to charge us again. The pool looked past its best, and breakfast was poor, with little choice and homemade jam that was moldy. We ate elsewhere. The location is okay, but walking up into town is a bit of a trek, so you need a car if you stay here. In late summer, expect lots of mosquitoes.

Friends we recommended it to were thrilled with their stay. It’s a special agriturismo, with products grown on site and a gorgeous view over Montepulciano, especially from the pool. The rooms are elegant and tastefully done, and the natural setting is lovely, right down to the variety and beauty of the plants.

Breakfast was delicious, with a generous, varied spread of authentic dishes prepared by the staff, who were friendly and helpful. The property sits among vineyards in the countryside, about five minutes from Montepulciano’s historic center and the various spas. Rooms are clean, roomy, and quaint, a lovely fit for a romantic getaway. Don’t miss it.
