Palazzo Rosadi

We celebrated our wedding at Palazzo Rosadi with friends and family, and had an unforgettable week. The valley and the nearby village of Monterchi look like a Tuscan postcard, and we still couldn’t get enough of that view after seven days. Rosado was a real stroke of luck as our landlord. He was friendly and available whenever we needed him, and gave us a lot of help while we planned the wedding. He also knows the area well and, with his open, charming manner and excellent English, helped us love Tuscany even more. Mille Grazie Rosado! The historic house is full of charm and was clean and well cared for. Every room has a modern bathroom. The garden was beautifully kept, with countless flowers blooming during our stay, and the pool areas were in good condition.

Rosado was so helpful and charming, replied quickly, and honestly felt like a friend by the end. He also had more ideas for things to do nearby. We were there for two weeks with friends and children, and had plenty to keep us busy. We visited Monterchi on a walking tour, went to Arezzo and Firenze, and did a wine tasting in Montepulciano. Padel courts are 20 minutes away, and the kids could ride horses 20 minutes by car from the villa. So there’s no need to worry about running out of activities in a small village. The 18th-century villa has a stunning view and a garden that was gorgeous even on our April visit. I can only imagine it with roses and hydrangeas in bloom, and walking beneath the grapes on the way to the pool. It feels like stepping back in time, while still having everything needed for a comfortable stay: a kitchen, laundry, barbecue, showers, and a pool, all very well maintained. Monterchi felt wonderfully unspoiled, even with the Madonna del Parto drawing visitors, and there were some nice little bars around town. We stayed here in 2013 with five friends, and it was just right for a Tuscan holiday. Rosado, the owner, was charming and helpful.

The location puts you close to the real Tuscan culture, and the amenities make this a truly magnificent place to stay. We had a wonderful, relaxing time, like living “Under the Tuscan Sun.” Highly recommended.
