B&B Art Suite Santa Brigida

Getting in was a little confusing, but once we worked out where to go, check-in was quick and made sense. You’ll need to climb a few flights or use the small elevator, which is awkward with several people and luggage. The location is beautiful, though it gets very loud since it’s inside a shopping center. It eventually quiets down. We were there a few days after Napoli won its futbol championship, so that may have contributed to the noise. The room itself was nice, but the bed felt rather stiff. There was a bad smell when I walked in, especially in the bathroom, and mold near the shower and toilet tank.

Staying inside the Umberto Gallery in Naples felt like a dream, since the building is one of the most beautiful structures in the world. The hotel’s rooms are large, comfortable, spacious, and clean, and the building, stairways, rooms, and shared areas all feel like works of art. It is dated, and little things could be improved, like having to open doors with huge, inconvenient bunches of keys. Still, the staff were helpful, professional, and quick to respond, so we barely minded. We had a great time and will definitely return.

Antonio and Barbara stood out for being sincere and very professional, and the staff worked hard to make the last four days of our stay pleasant after we asked to switch rooms because some of the photos had given us the wrong impression. The location is ideal and the staff remarkable, but the “Art Suite” needs repairs. The photos show hotel rooms, while ours had black mold in the bathroom and paint peeling off the walls. The rooms need a lot of care, so I’m giving four stars.

The room was beautiful and in a really unique spot, but finding the entrance is very difficult, so here’s how it worked for me. Look for the gate inside the galleria with the hotel name, then buzz the call box and give the person who answers your reservation name. You can take the stairs to the fourth floor or use the elevator, which currently fits one person at a time, and check in there. After that, go back down to the galleria level and look around the outer perimeter for number 68, which was the one I needed. It’s a long walk.
