Getting around was easy from this fantastic location, even up to the top of Vesuvius. I highly recommend the place. The shower head could use replacing and the mattresses should be checked, then everything would be perfect. I hope those suggestions come across as helpful pointers for improvement, not negative criticism.

Via Chiaia is a real plus, right in the center and just minutes from the main sights. There were also several good places to eat nearby, so we didn't have to go far. The owner who greeted us was kind and helpful. Our room was comfortable and the mattress was fine, but the pillows were too thin. The elevator was useful, though it had an unpleasant musty smell. Cleanliness was a serious problem. There was hair on the floor and bed when we arrived, and dust everywhere, even on top of the empty fridge. There wasn't even a complimentary bottle of water. The shower looked gloomy and was full of rust. Hot water took ages to come through, then the pressure was so low that we often ended up taking cold showers. We found no towels on arrival. They were brought two days later, but they were old and worn, and very small. The owner had said there'd be cleaning and fresh linen on the third day, but little was actually cleaned. The original dust and hair were still there, and the sheets and tablecloths weren't changed. We had to use the same towels for the whole stay. In reply to the owner's comment: I don't think he understood what I was saying, and his response was quite rude. I understand wanting to defend your property, but saying in 2023, “Maybe the towels were small because she's big? They couldn't contain her!” is insulting. I don't weigh 200kg and can't fit under a towel, but even if I did, that would still be a very rude and unkind thing to say, especially in a world where people suffer from having to read comments like that. To avoid another attack, I'll clarify that this isn't my situation. There weren't different kinds of pillows, either. Maybe they were forgotten, which can happen. We only had the two on the beds and no others, and there were no closets where we could've searched for anything hidden. I assure you the hair wasn't ours. It was there when we arrived. The shower rust in the photos is real, too. They were taken with a cheap phone, not professionally to discredit the property. My review wasn't an attack. It was an honest account meant to help improve a place with a lot of potential. I say that as a customer and also as a colleague, as you rightly pointed out. I didn't publish and then delete the review. Google simply said it wasn't visible, so I posted it again, thinking it hadn't gone through the first time. If he can't take advice or criticism, I don't think he understands how this work goes.

For 3-4 days in the heart of Naples, this was a fantastic stay. The rooms had all the necessary comforts, and the owner was very helpful. The location really made the experience, probably accounting for 70% of my rating, with those other things making up the remaining 30%.

Paolo was incredibly friendly and happy to answer our questions. He even gave us a boat trip along the Amalfi Coast, where we got to visit Positano and Amalfi. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The B&B is right in the center, just steps from Piazza del Plebiscito, Caffe Gambrinus, and Via Toledo. It's a perfect place to stay in Naples, highly recommended.

Paolo is a really fun, courteous, and helpful host, and the rooms are clean, welcoming, and have all the essentials. The location is excellent, just a few steps from Piazza Plebiscito, Teatro San Carlo, and Via Toledo. From the room balcony you can see Palazzo Reale and Piazza Trieste e Trento. I recommend it.
