Carlos and Simone, along with everyone else, made us feel welcome with their friendship and all the lovely food they offered. Breakfast from the staff was ample, and the Wi-Fi worked really well. Our large front room got plenty of sun through tall balcony doors, and the shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. The room was cleaned daily. Looking over Dante Piazza, we saw parents with strollers and children playing soccer there, which made the neighborhood feel family-oriented. We felt safe and comfortable.

We spent a month and a half in Italy in hotels and Airbnb stays, paying anywhere from $20 to $200 a night, and this was the only awful experience. We booked because we liked the location and believed there would be security around the clock. There are reports of people being robbed in Naples every day, so that mattered to us. Before we arrived, the B&B said they could keep our luggage if we came before check-in. But on arrival, the woman who let us in spoke no English at all and didn’t understand when we asked for water. We paid 60 euros plus a 2-euro tax per room, with breakfast for one person, and expected much better service for that price. The B&B is a two-bedroom apartment turned into three guest rooms, and there’s no building security. The woman is there only during the day. Our room was hot when we arrived because the AC hadn’t been turned on. We weren’t told how to use it or given the remote, and by the time we found it wasn’t working, she had left. Nobody answered the phone, so we spent the first night in the heat. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 AM. They said it couldn’t be served earlier when we asked, and it was okay, but there was no fruit even though it was summer. The website lists three phone numbers, but most calls went unanswered. One number reaches an English-speaking man, but when we occasionally got through, he was always busy and said he was at sea. We had only two very busy days and needed clear communication; we couldn’t spend all our time calling and trying to find translations. The worst part came on our last day. We had little time and planned to see three museums, so we wanted to leave our bags after checkout at about 8:30 AM. The woman who didn’t speak English refused to hold them. We called the man many times, but he was at sea, so we had to change our plans. I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight in Naples in general, because I think there’s a 99.9% chance of being robbed. Someone stole our wallet, then threw it away because it had only credit cards. We were lucky the police returned it, but the whole thing was nerve-racking and cost us more time.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the B&B is in a handy spot close to the metro, just off the main road. It’s small, but the en suite rooms are very good. Breakfast was the usual Italian spread: bread, cheese, ham, salami, preserves, pastries, yogurt, and very good espresso.

Thanks to Simona and Marco for being such great hosts. A clean, quiet place in a very central part of Napoli. We had a perfect stay.

The staff were really friendly, and the rooms were nice and clean. Service was excellent. It’s well placed beside a metro station and near a few attractions.
