I had to cancel after a serious injury, a bone marrow edema on my tibial plateau confirmed by medical documents. Once I knew I couldn’t travel, I contacted the property right away, offered a medical certificate and asked if they’d consider a goodwill gesture. They kept the fee for one night and wouldn’t discuss it. I found that rigid and lacking basic empathy, and wouldn’t recommend the property for its customer service. In reply to the response: I had a documented medical emergency, with bone edema and daily treatment at home, that made travel physically impossible. I contacted both the property and Booking immediately and offered to send my certificate. I was only asking for understanding and a refund in a force majeure situation, as defined in the French and Italian civil codes. It wasn’t about 70 euros, but fairness and empathy. Other hotels or bed and breakfasts do offer refunds in medical cases, despite what you say.

The rooms are spacious, especially the single rooms, and the bathrooms have been freshly renovated. Everything was very clean, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. There’s a common dining room with dishes, handy for takeout from nearby restaurants, and good drinks from the nearby wine shops. A relaxing Naples stay at a good price for the quality. I strongly recommend it.

Traveling with a very young child, I really appreciated having a kitchenette and shared dining room. We could make a simple meal and stay in when we were too tired to go out. Gibus is close to little shops and one of Naples’ best-known pizza restaurants; the metro is a five-minute walk, and several famous streets and tourist spots are reachable on foot. The B&B is well placed, with rooms larger than you usually find in places like this. The decor and furniture also feel thoughtfully chosen.

A very clean place with a modern look. Pizzeria Starita is just a few meters away, and Materdei metro station is close by. Guests can use the modern kitchen, with tea, coffee and snacks available.
