Casa Solmes Rooms

We had a fantastic stay, even though it was only one night. We booked at 22:00 and checked in at 1:00, and the owner was incredibly flexible and did everything for us. The room was nicely furnished, and breakfast was generous and really good. I’d recommend this place.

The owner was really friendly and gave us lots of suggestions for things to do and places to see around Olbia. It’s a cosy little hotel. The rooms are basic and small, but clean, and for the low price they’re definitely worth it.

We felt very comfortable at Casa Solmes, and would stay again if we return to Olbia. Our hostess was kind, helpful, and flexible. Our flight got in late, but we could reach her on Whatsapp so she could open the gate and send the check-in instructions. She also shared great suggestions for beaches and restaurants. Pasticceria Il Faro is very close and great for pastries and cakes, and Trattoria La Vecchia is also nearby for an amazing dinner. The room was clean and quiet, the shower was good, and we liked having espressos on the balcony. Just keep in mind that towels, bedding, and coffee are changed every three days unless you pay extra.

This was terrible with children. Once they found out my nephew had a fever and we were at the door, they cancelled our booking because they were “afraid.” They had cancelled one of the rooms just minutes earlier too. I wouldn’t trust them. After I posted this, the owner replied. I can’t respond to that comment directly, so here are some details. They called while we were in the taxi on the way to Casa Solara, which is why I couldn’t answer. We explained the child didn’t have Covid and said we’d take a test if asked. We did take one, and it was negative. Even so, my sister, the child, and I were left with our luggage in the street at night. Finding a taxi in Olbia then wasn’t easy, and there was no way to get one soon. We weren’t treated with any humanity.
