The food was a huge highlight of our wedding. Dinner was amazing from start to finish, with each course better than the last. Everyone loved it, and they made our cannoli tower dream happen. Our espresso martini was a hit too, and the after party bar was top notch, a must for us. Having all our guests together in one place just outside Orvieto was exactly what we wanted. The villas look over the pool, vineyards, and Umbrian countryside, which made a stunning backdrop for our wedding. We chose to hold the ceremony at BSF, overlooking the Umbrian hills, and were glad we did. Villa Laura was a separate reception space, with lights above our table setting, and its grounds were beautifully kept. The sunset that night was stunning. The BSF grounds needed attention on the wedding day because the grass hadn’t been cut, but they mowed it that morning after my husband asked. We also loved having a spa and restaurant on site. The spa was wonderful, though there was only one spa lady for our guests’ appointments that day. She gave a great massage, and all the ladies raved about it. We enjoyed sitting by the pool even in late September. The rooms were nice and came in sizes that let us assign guests appropriately. Breakfast was very good, they did a pretty good job with our American breakfast needs, and our guests loved eating together each morning. The main frustration was communication before the wedding. Our planner had to follow up several times to get answers and check that everything was being done as agreed in the contract. Some of that might be the Italian way of communicating, but we’d hoped for more from the people we spoke with beforehand. We’d absolutely choose BSF again. It made for a perfect day and a beautiful wedding weekend that we, our guests, and my husband will cherish forever.

We’re deeply grateful to Borgo San Faustino for being such a wonderful home for Capodanno in Jazz 2026. The quiet landscape and understated elegance of the spaces made a lovely balance of celebration and retreat. What stayed with us most was the warm, attentive, discreet hospitality that made guests feel cared for. The rooms, shared areas, spa, and dining all felt easy and natural. Everything was clean, quiet, and very well maintained, with extraordinary value for the price.

The meal was superb, and the grounds are beautiful, but the room and upkeep fell short. There were spider webs and dead flies on the floor, and the air conditioning didn’t work at first in 36°C heat. The host had to come by several times before it started running. There are no electrical outlets apart from the one used by the night light. There’s a small bar fridge in the room, and if you need a cup, look inside it. The host himself couldn’t have been nicer. He was accommodating and did his best to help, but only so much could be fixed. This is supposedly a resort and spa, but you’d only know it from the price. The room doesn’t feel like one. Eating outside was uncomfortable too, with the seats tilted downhill; the metal chairs had no cushions and felt like another torture device. The place has a lot of potential if the grounds and rooms were consistently maintained.

This wasn’t the experience I expected. Maybe it used to be an agriturismo country lodge and tried to become something more, but it all felt a bit sloppy. The rooms and indoor areas had spider webs in the crevices, dead flies on the floor, and lime all over the shower and faucet. There’s only one outlet, for the night light, so you have to unplug it to charge anything. The room was very small, with a view of a wall. The old fashioned bathroom has a good view only if you’re sitting on the toilet, and the toilet and bidet looked like they were from the 60s, perhaps meant as old charm. Everything needs a lot of maintenance just to be acceptable. The air conditioning wouldn’t start, and after a few calls to the host we got it working. Then it wouldn’t turn off, so I had to unplug it. The wooden bench outside the room was in terrible shape and dangerous. The provided slippers and robe were the only resort-like touch, though there was nowhere to hang the robe. Dinner was pretty good, but overpriced. All the outdoor furniture looked worn and wasn’t clean. I sat on the outdoor couch and had to wash my pants afterward. A title alone doesn’t make for a good stay. If this is a resort, it’s the last resort.

We found the place online and booked directly. They use WhatsApp, which made communication really smooth and easy. The staff gave us a lovely welcome, and it was especially nice meeting Andrea, Ciara, Tamara, and the rest of the team. They made us feel at home, and we can’t wait to return. We came on a spontaneous trip for views, peace, and Italian food, and got all of that. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the views are stunning. The menu is small, with local seasonal food, mostly made on site, and their own wine is wonderful. We visited in early April, at the start of the season, so it was quiet and felt like the place was just coming alive. It also seems well set up for bigger events and weddings, with Villa Laura nearby. Our room was simple, clean, and comfortable. The pool was closed, unfortunately, but we enjoyed the sunbeds and the lovely pool area. There’s also a spa on site for an extra charge.
