The pool was spotless, though a little chilly, with plenty of sun loungers and a lovely place to relax. We were six adults and two kids for seven nights, and the house was clean, roomy, cozy, and well cared for. Each spacious bedroom had its own bathroom and toilet, there were lots of towels, and everything worked as expected. The kitchen had what we needed, including a dishwasher, and the rooms matched the photos. There was room to eat indoors and out, with a table and chairs outside. The owners are a really lovely couple, speak English, and were very helpful. We asked for a tour of their Etruscan basement, which was a great idea. They told us a lot about the origins of the place and the history of Italy. The location worked perfectly as a base for us. Shops and supermarkets are fairly close in nearby small towns, and most places we wanted to visit were about 1-1.5 hours away. We went to Firenze, Venezia by car and train, Siena, and Cinque Terre by car and train from La Spezia. I recommend staying here. Enjoy your time there!

The owners were incredibly hospitable and told us to ask if we needed anything. One of them showed us around the property and pointed out a very private pool area. We had a relaxing stay, with a convenient central location for the places we wanted to go. I was worried after reading the reviews, but on arrival I found a beautifully renovated, spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at a great price compared with others nearby. It was spotless and had everything we needed. I’d definitely return and recommend it.

The rooms are clean and nice, but I noticed a few things that didn't seem right. The owner came by during our meal to offer a complimentary tasting, then wanted payment at the end of our stay. Electricity is charged at a higher rate. I wouldn't recommend booking the whole place privately because the houses are far apart. It also isn't accessible for a disabled person.

The location is amazing, and this apartment could have been a wonderful place, but our stay was a real disappointment. We felt ripped off and had none of the value for money we expected. I travel every year and have never had service this bad. For more than 1,000 euros for a week, this felt like a place that should cost around 400, definitely not over 1,000. The owners seemed to think they could do as they pleased once we had paid and had no choice but to stay. The listing said there was a pool, and there is one, but it was only open from 9 to 19:30. We expected to swim after days out and couldn't because of the hours. The apartment was dirty, the furniture old and poorly maintained, and the shower door wouldn't close. The towels were old and grey instead of white. We had four towels for five people, and one had brown spots. When we asked for a clean replacement and another towel, the owner said two adults should share one. They eventually sent people to clean and brought more towels, but made us feel as if we'd asked for something unusual. Before booking, I checked that there was a washing machine. They said it was 10 metres away and shared by all guests. When we tried to use it, we found that each load cost 5 euros and it could only be used in the morning. Clara offered to help by taking our washing out when the cycle was done.
