The host was nice, and the accommodation was spacious and clean, with towels changed every day. Breakfast was Italian style. Everything is close by, including the train station within walking distance. The balcony door blocks sound well, but the area is still lively.

Manuela and her husband made us feel very welcome and had plenty of useful suggestions for bars, places to eat, and things to see. We spent three lovely nights at B&B Bandiera 77, right in the middle of Palermo. The room was beautifully furnished and had a balcony, and the breakfast room was spacious and pleasant. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including yogurt, muesli, toast, butter, ham, and cheese. There’s also a fridge for your own food and drinks. I’d happily recommend it for a few days in the city.

The apartment is enormous, with two roomy, independent spaces that are simply furnished but have everything you need, plus a big shared room for breakfast. It’s right in the center, but just far enough from Palermo’s nightlife to avoid the noise. The entrance to the building looks a little shabby. Manuela was so welcoming and made us feel at home, with detailed directions and lots of helpful suggestions. Breakfast was generous and set us up well for the day. Staying here made me love Palermo even more.
