Borgo Serafino

Don't miss the starry sky. This farmhouse is tucked into nature and makes a lovely quiet escape from the city. The road up is manageable without a 4x4. We were welcomed with real warmth, a fireplace, kind service and good food. The rooms were clean, and the kitchen was well set up, with tasty meals, homemade olive oil and artisanal bread. The one downside was that there was barely enough hot water for a shower. A simple, hospitable place for anyone looking for a natural setting.

The room was cold and very damp at the end of October. When I asked about heating, the lady said there was no need to light the fireplace and that warm blankets were available. We slept under the duvet, at least the one we had. There was also no Wi-Fi, and the place is in the middle of nowhere. Getting to the apartment meant driving a stretch of unpaved road, over fairly large stones and in total darkness. The rooms we found were dirty, with several insects inside. Breakfast was advertised as included, but as the photo shows, it was just three items bought at Eurospin plus the pasticciotti made by the lady. At €88 a night, I expected more. And after my partner showered, there was no hot water left when I tried to take mine. It's a place with potential, but it needs more care and attention to what it offers.

The kids had plenty of green space to play, and the atmosphere was lovely. Staff were really friendly and attentive, too. The food was the real highlight for us: top quality cured meats and cheeses, all homemade, and spectacular meat, especially the lamb. A lovely discovery, and we'll definitely come back. Highly recommend it.

Dogs are welcome here, and the hospitality is warm and courteous. The farmhouses are independent, spacious and comfortable, with tasteful furnishings. You can cook in your own place or eat at the inn, where they serve delicious dishes made with fresh local produce. The setting is panoramic and surrounded by nature, a great spot to get away and spend time outdoors.
