The service was very bad, and the behavior felt hypocritical. I'd only stay here if I were desperate. There are usually plenty of better options in the city.

Donatella was thoughtful and kind, and the room was spacious, clean, and practical, with a lovely garden. It's in a great spot in the historic center: the Minimetrò, elevator, and escalators are only a few meters away. In about three minutes you can reach Piazza 4 Novembre, by the Fontana Maggiore. Highly recommended.

Booking.com helped sort things out in the end, and found my parents a much better place right behind the cathedral, an entire apartment rather than a room. Still, be very careful with these people. I booked their Easter 2026 stay for three nights, two weeks ahead, and the owner then repeatedly called and messaged me to cancel. She said there had been a bereavement, but that she could host them from April 6th, just after the Easter long weekend. She also said many B&Bs take themselves off Booking.com during busy periods to avoid its commission, which sounded like she'd forgotten to do that and couldn't earn more. That may happen, but it should be thought through in advance, or the owner should cancel and accept the platform's penalty. I understand bereavements happen, and I offered my condolences. Twice before, though, I had heard the same explanation and later found the same accommodation listed at a higher price after I cancelled. So this time I asked the owner to cancel, even though I wouldn't otherwise have done it. She sent several alternative offers outside online platforms and said Booking.com would probably suggest places that weren't comparable to hers. That wasn't true: the platform offered a whole apartment just behind the cathedral. I didn't trust her after what had happened, and I didn't want to risk leaving two elderly people stranded. In the end, she claimed the card wasn't in the booker's name, although the reservation clearly said it was for other people, and the platform cancelled it. Pure dishonesty.

The owner was extremely kind and gave us great suggestions for sights and places to eat. The location makes getting around easy: Rocca Paolina is a four to five minute walk, and the elevator and escalator up to the historic center are a minute away. From there, Fontana Maggiore is another two-minute walk. A great B&B for visiting Perugia, highly recommended!
