Borgo Mandoleto

After a busy trip around Italy, a week here by the beautiful pool was just the relaxing finish we needed. Donatella and her team were so friendly and hospitable, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Breakfast was a highlight, with a lovely view, eggs, yogurt, fruit, coffee, and Donatella’s homemade cakes. Such beautiful hospitality can be hard to find. Grazie mille Borgo Mandoleto for ending our trip on such a lovely note. We’ll be back 🥰

The owners and everyone at this charming, gorgeous place won our hearts. They took wonderful care of us, and the breakfast was generous, with nearly anything you could want and plenty of cakes and pies freshly made by Donatella. The air-conditioned rooms had crisp, freshly pressed linens every day. Beds and pillows are firmer than some Americans may be used to, but that wasn’t a problem for us. The restaurant across the street serves delicious food, though it isn’t always open for lunch.

We spent three very pleasant nights at Borgo Mandoleto, a small and charming bed and breakfast. The large rooms were nicely decorated in a countryside style, and the grounds had lots of lovely spots, including by the pool, to enjoy a coffee or aperitivo while taking in the Umbrian countryside. There’s a good restaurant next to the B&B, and several places are a short drive away: Perugia, La Citta della Pieve, Lago di Trasimeno, and Solemeo, where we had a wonderful aperitivo. Donatella was a gracious host and served a nice breakfast. Don’t miss the tortes. Her English was very good.

Cooking with Donatella was such a wonderful experience. She served the delicious meal we made in an intimate setting, with superb personal service. Grazie Miele Donatella for a magnificent meal ❤️
