Hotel Iris

Hotel Iris is well placed for exploring Perugia, with an escalator nearby that takes you right into the heart of town. The hotel is a little dated, but it was clean and all the services worked. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. We felt more like guests at friends' place than at a hotel, and had a wonderful stay.

It's easy to get around on foot from this beautiful historic building. The location is good, though the building itself didn't seem very well maintained.

The staff didn't seem to care when I raised my concerns, and that made an already disappointing stay worse. I wouldn't recommend Iris Hotel Perugia if cleanliness matters to you; there are better options in the area. As soon as I entered my room, I noticed dust everywhere. The surfaces hadn't been cleaned properly, and the space felt neglected. It looked uninviting and made me question the hygiene, especially given what I paid. I expected somewhere more comfortable and better maintained.

We spent two nights here, May 28-30, and are already looking forward to visiting Perugia again. The location is very good, with a great view and escalators nearby for a quick trip to the old city center. Our room was clean and quite large. We love authentic hotels, and really enjoyed the atmosphere, though anyone looking for modern renovations or furniture might not feel the same. Breakfast wasn't included, but we had a cappuccino on the lovely terrace and it was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Seeing the negative Google comments made me sad, because we really loved the place. Thank you!
