Residenza Il Cacao

The room was small but clean and adequate for my one-night stay over the August bank holiday. The heat made the night really uncomfortable. I couldn't leave the windows open because dogs were barking at nearby houses, so I used a fan. It helped, but the noise was still a shame.

The area was very quiet, and the room was spotless with excellent heating. But that bed was a disaster. The moment I lay down, the mattress sagged like a hammock, and I couldn't sleep at all. Mattresses are cheap these days, so it's a shame they didn't replace it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well equipped. It's a quiet, private spot just a few minutes by car from all the points of interest. There’s also a lovely, well-kept courtyard inside, with space for smokers.

There’s a huge parking area and a very beautiful garden. I only stayed one night; the bed was really comfortable, and the room and bathroom were clean. The only awkward moment was when the very kind owner came downstairs at the same time as me, while my mother was bringing the groceries home and I’d come down in the first slippers I could find.
