Grand Hotel in Porto Cervo

The pool was nice, and the pool bar staff were cheerful and gave excellent service. Breakfast was also excellent, with lots of good options. But the hotel restaurant for lunch and dinner was overpriced for what it served, so we ate next door instead. We stayed with two friends from May 10 to May 13. We arrived very early on May 10 by ferry, and the room wasn’t ready, which was understandable before the 3:00 p.m. check-in. Still, the front desk made us feel unwelcome, even though the hotel was almost empty, and that attitude lasted through most of our stay. Arranging the private transport advertised online for $100 had also been difficult. I’d emailed weeks earlier, but only got confirmation after chasing them persistently the day before. We knew it was early in the island season and not every restaurant would be open in early May, but since the hotel had opened for the season, I expected things to be ready. There was no snack bar on our first day, and the beach was still covered in seaweed, with no chairs. Workers and trucks spent the rest of our stay cleaning it, so we mostly stayed by the pool. For this price, I wouldn’t return.

We found the room comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. It’s easy to get to nearby beaches from this fantastic spot, and Porto Cervo’s center is close enough to explore. The sea views are beautiful, and I’d happily recommend the Grand Hotel in Porto Cervo.

The beachside location and those breathtaking views made this a great place to relax in Porto Cervo. The hotel is beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Ronia, Francesca and Anna were especially welcoming, kind, and ready to help whenever we needed anything. We’d highly recommend it.

I was sharing a room with a tall colleague, and the beds were tiny and almost touching, with only a small nightstand between them. At least it was just for one night. The ground-floor room near reception was small but nicely presented, with attractive tiles. The shower setup was impractical, though, and leftover water soaked the bath mat.
