Art House Margine Rosso

Carlo was a terrific host, always ready to help and share his enthusiasm for his work. The house and setting are beautiful, close to the sea but away from the traffic.

The room upstairs feels more like a little apartment, and breakfast has everything you need, so you could skip another meal. This is a small, modern and welcoming B&B overlooking the sea in Margine Rosso, with a nice atmosphere that lets you settle in without feeling overwhelmed. The little pool is lovely. It isn't heated, but it gets morning sun, so the afternoon can be relaxing if the wind allows. Their friendly dog is always up for cuddles and makes a great mascot, as long as he doesn't mind having animals around.

You'll need a car, though the location itself is good. There were quite a few problems, some pretty glaring. The mattress from Mondo Convenienza was super cheap and really uncomfortable, the indoor and outdoor spaces seemed neglected, and the waste bins the host had made such a big deal about were missing. The room's outside door had no key, so it had to be left open. There were no brochures, maps or even simple tips about beaches or art. The whole approach needs a rethink.

The family were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very complete. They were overbooked in our case, but found us a very good alternative, so everything worked out great.
