Sporthotel Rasen

The view is great, and there’s a nice mini-golf course nearby. It was clean, though not as clean as other places we’ve stayed in the area. This is a sleepy little town, and after 8 p.m. there’s basically nothing open nearby apart from one really good restaurant called "Willi " something. Service was kind. The thing I didn’t like was the "sporthotel" name, which suggests a sporty place, but it isn’t one and there’s no gym.

The room looked new and was spacious, and everyone was courteous and friendly. We were also able to come to the evening menu a little early, which was flexible of them. The fitness room was the letdown for me as a fitness junkie: it was carpeted and had a treadmill, ergometer, stepper, one handle, and a stomach bench, all in a room with table tennis and soccer. Maybe I expect too much from fitness facilities, so that’s just my opinion. The internet was slow and kept needing to be reconnected. The COVID measures seemed good, but most staff wore their masks below their noses, which made me wonder why they were wearing them.

Really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all good, and I’d gladly go back.

The meals were even better than the comfortable, luxurious feel of the place. The spa is gorgeous.
