Villaggio Baia d'Ercole

Our room was in the so-called first row by the sea, which was a plus. The beds were wide and comfortable, and the air conditioning was quiet and worked well. The rooms are modest and vary a lot in quality even within the same price range. They were cleaned very well, and the reception staff were helpful and friendly. The holiday village is right on the beach, with a beautiful, well-kept territory and crystal clear water. To swim, walk about 20-30 m from the parasols toward the cliff, where there are fewer stones. The restaurant is more like a canteen. Breakfast stayed the same but was sufficient, and dinner isn't something to expect culinary experiences from. It's quiet around there, with not much to do. There's a small shop and 4 restaurants within a 10-minute walk, and a larger shop and a couple of restaurants 25 minutes away. You can travel to Tropea and back at certain times for 15 euros, where the life and surroundings are completely different.

The rooms were nice, with comfortable beds and a pleasant view, but the meals became monotonous. Both the restaurant food and breakfast lacked variety and got boring. We were disappointed to have to buy a pass for 7 EUR daily to use the pool and other facilities. That felt stingy, and should have been part of the hotel price. Paying extra for sunbeds in the first two rows on the beach didn't help either. The pool's chlorinated saltwater wasn't appreciated by our children, so we spent less time there than we'd hoped. We felt misled into thinking this was a four-star hotel. There are definitely better places, and we won't book here again.

The hotel has an incredible sea view and looks really good overall. The only services were room cleaning, a self-service restaurant, and a bar. The restaurant was included in the room price, but the bar wasn't.

We could really switch off and relax here. It's an ideal village for families and couples, with a beautiful beachfront spot, a well-kept beach, and crystal clear water. There are two nice, clean swimming pools, plus a shuttle to Tropea. The restaurant serves delicious, fresh local food, and service is impeccable. All the staff are friendly, kind, and professional. Francesco, the restaurant chef, made us feel at home and took care of every detail.
