Hotel Alexander

Choosing a hotel in Riccione from Norway, sitting at the computer with hundreds of options, was tough. Luckily, we picked well. We chose Hotel Alexander because it has a pool, and that turned out to be a smart decision. We used it almost every day. It's not large, but there are free sunbeds, and there's even some shade around the pool late in the afternoon. The staff were another big plus. Everyone greeted us and did their best to help, even though we don't speak Italian. Manuel and Irene at the front desk were especially helpful, and the rest of the team was fantastic too. Breakfast lived up to what the website promised, with plenty of delicious food. I enjoyed sitting outside in the shade afterward with coffee, sometimes and a fresh cornetto. On a few mornings I went down before breakfast to bring coffee back to my wife and me. The staff quickly made us delicious americano coffees and cheerfully put them on a tray. We ate dinner at the hotel one night. The staff were friendly as always, but the food was just okay for us. Our room was quite fine, a little old but clean and perfectly suited to us, and the balcony was a nice extra. We stayed four nights in a room for three. We parked our car for free about a 5-10 minute walk away. Good value for money, and I'd recommend Hotel Alexander if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Riccione.
