Embassy Aparthotel

The apartment was a good size and very close to the beach. We stayed in apt.4, whose bedrooms face the quiet side, away from the Embassy Restaurant. We knew there could be some noise from the restaurant, and the property had been fair about that when we asked before booking. For the price, though, the place felt poorly finished rather than high-end or luxurious. There were scuffs and scratches on the walls, and it looked as if nobody had taken the low season to freshen it up. The balcony was dusty when we arrived, and the parking area was a bit of a mess with spider webs. Since it’s a hotel, I’d expect it to be cleaned now and then. There was no detergent, dish sponge, or paper towel, though we knew in advance that these weren’t supplied. Still, keeping some replenished for guests would make sense, especially as the fuses made it hard to use appliances anyway. The washing machine tripped a fuse whenever we switched it on. The electrical installation seemed underpowered: after we’d watched TV for a while, the picture disappeared but the sound stayed on. The power light blinked overnight, and looking up the model and blinking pattern suggested the TV wasn’t getting enough power and had gone into safe mode. The air conditioning didn’t work at all. The host came up right away after we reported it, but their workaround was to set it to heating, with 24 degrees as the lowest setting. I looked up the error code and found that the system had run out of refrigerant. The error kept coming back, and each time the proposed fix was to reset it. That cost us about an hour too.

It was nowhere near clean.

We stayed with friends in a really nice, bright, clean apartment. But my wife and I got the sofa bed, and it was so uncomfortable we were thinking about leaving the hotel that night. The nightclub music was also far too loud, even with the windows shut and the blinds down.

Carlo is the clear number one when it comes to entertainment, he can do a bit of everything. My niece had such a good time. The rooms are lovely and the food is excellent too.
