B&B Second Floor

The service at the desk was very good, and the location comes with a great view. The rooms are fine for a B&B, though of course they aren’t what you’d expect from a five-star hotel.

The location is jaw-dropping, and the staff were so kind and friendly. The place was quiet and well soundproofed, and the room felt spacious and comfortable. A few things could be better: they only provided one coffee for the whole stay, laundry was a 15-minute walk away, and the towels smelled like pickles even though they were clean. The remote wasn’t clean either. The shower was cramped, and water got onto the tiled floor, making it slippery. A luggage scale would be useful too.

We ate and had drinks downstairs three times during our three nights, and everything was great. This little boutique hotel is a rare find, with a fantastic bar and restaurant, a great location, and a friendly team that gave us excellent service. As LGBTQ travelers, we felt this would be a lovely place for LGBTQ guests and their friends and family. It was our last stop after a month in Italy, and it exceeded what we expected. Big thanks to Alex, SANTINA, ROSEANGELA, Paco, LEONARDO, Gaetano and Michael. One small suggestion: the room was clean, but could use more attention in the corners and tucked-away spots, and the scuffs on the walls could be touched up.

The room had a lovely view for photos, and I liked having a Nespresso machine and fridge. The location was fabulous. The receptionist was very nice and helpful, though reception is open only for limited hours, so we didn’t see them much. The shower seemed to have a blocked drain and filled with water quickly. Since no one was really at reception when we were around, we couldn’t report it, and it was a nuisance. Our check-in at around 10pm was stressful. We were told to go to the coming out bar, but the first person we asked looked at us as if we were crazy and said it was just a bar, so we stood outside with our luggage, panicking. Someone at another bar confirmed that the B&B check-in was definitely at the coming out bar. We went back, spoke to another staff member, and eventually got checked in. I don’t understand how some staff didn’t know the place had rooms. That first interaction made us feel stupid. There was a lot of noise from the bar below and from crowds shouting, fighting, and singing outside our window until 3 or 4am. That might suit people who go out drinking every night, but we were getting up early to sightsee and needed sleep. The window blinds also let in plenty of morning light, so expect an early start.
