A clean, cosy hotel with good value for the price. The metro station is nearby, and the neighbourhood isn't packed with tourists, so it's easy to get a good night's sleep.

I spent three days here and had cold showers every single day, despite Rome's temperature dropping to 7 degrees Celsius. The hotel acknowledged the hot water problem but never apologized or offered compensation. Each time I contacted them through a third-party platform, they claimed it had been fixed, but it wasn't. They also never reached out to ask what I needed, offer to move me to another room or check how things were going. The self-service check-in was another problem. The hotel doesn't proactively send guests the city tax payment link, a check-in code or any other instructions, so guests have to contact them. On the first night, after a cold shower, I asked to check out, but they took a long time to respond. Later, through a third-party contact, I was told the problem had been fixed. Nothing changed. I ended up with cold showers for all three days, during my period and in freezing weather. The hotel eventually acknowledged the issue, but did nothing more. I'm extremely disappointed.

Sky Blue Place Rome is conveniently located, and the staff we met and the customer service team who replied to our messages were polite and responsive. I'd give it 3 out of 5, but there are things to know before you arrive. The check-in process is confusing and not intuitive. Contact the property well ahead of time to understand the steps, or it can take a while and be frustrating. The hot water ran out after about 10 minutes. Customer service said the individual boiler needed 20-30 minutes to reheat, but we waited around two hours and still only got lukewarm water, not comfortable for washing. I discovered this mid-shower with soap still on me, then had to boil water in the kettle and use a towel to clean myself. It was a really unpleasant situation and not what you expect on a trip.

The room was super nice, in a charming old building. We had a hard time finding the entrance at night, since we're tourists not used to Italian buildings. A few pictures would make it easier to figure out.
