The receptionist's behavior seemed very odd to me. He photographed my passport, saying it was for the police, but I don't think he can do that without permission. As far as I understand, the required details can be written down by hand: name, surname, date of birth, and passport number. Don't let anyone photograph your passport, since that puts your personal information at risk. If I run into trouble somewhere because of this, I'll come straight back to you and find you with the police.

Agoda said the latest check-in was 10:30 p.m., so arriving at 9:30, I expected to get in. I rang the bell, but nobody came, and I had to call or message the owner. He said he'd already left and would get someone else to help. After an hour on the street, someone finally reached the building entrance. While I waited, I was frightened when a drunk man came up to me, aggressively asking for money. Then the person in charge told me on WhatsApp that the online price was wrong and they wouldn't let me in unless I paid another 60 euros. I'd already paid online, had nowhere else to stay, and couldn't know how long a refund would take if I booked somewhere else that night. To avoid being stranded, I paid the extra amount. The whole thing felt like a scam. The host should make sure the online price is correct instead of putting that problem on guests.

The accommodation's location was the only good thing. We let ourselves in and didn't meet anyone during our stay. On arrival, the room wasn't suitable, so we emailed the host, but never got a response. It was shabby and run down, with mold on the ceiling and in the bathroom. The hand shower and curtain were missing, and the room was fully visible from the neighboring windows. There was a small old fridge that didn't cool. In four days, the towels weren't changed and the room wasn't cleaned. I wouldn't recommend it.

There was no room service and nobody at reception, and after five days we were still using the same linens and towels, even though we were told they would be changed after three. We couldn't get answers to our questions about the Wi-Fi, and there wasn't any. The bar fridge and air conditioner were there in name only. Curtains seemed to be an optional extra we forgot to request, and light from the next building kept us awake. The spare pillows had no covers and were the yellowest I've ever seen. Getting in was a struggle too: we rang the bell and called for an hour before someone answered. They said check-in had closed at 4, even though we'd been there since 3:30, then sent us the entry codes. Their claim to fame was a four-star TripAdvisor review from 2013, which I suspect they wrote themselves. Don't stay here.
