The gate and parking area both stay closed, so I felt really safe. Breakfast was simple but enough to get started for the day. The bus stop is near Al Casaletto, though getting into central Rome takes a while. It’s a nice place to stay for a reasonable price.

The staff and nuns were nice, and the room was an okay size for three people. Our beds were made while we were out in the city, and there was wireless internet. I stayed here during a pilgrimage and found it generally suitable, but the beds were too hard for me. The shower was just behind the door, which wasn’t great, and the toilet flush took some figuring out the first time. Breakfast wasn’t very good either. The rolls were hollow almost every day, and the cocoa was too sweet and didn’t taste very good, so I usually ate in the city instead.

For a religious hotel in Rome, this is the best.

I always think of Sister Gilda with so much affection. When I taught in Rome, I stayed at this wonderful hotel for three years. After a day at work, it was a peaceful, serene place to come back to, and Sister Gilda was so kind and helpful. She’s dear to my heart.
