The room had no soundproofing, so we could hear all the street noise, and the stay felt far too expensive for what we got. We also arrived to find that breakfast wasn’t included, despite the listing saying it was. We’d booked through Agoda but never received check-in instructions. The place was closed when we got there, and we waited nearly an hour while nobody answered the phone number listed online. When a staff member finally showed up, he was rude and kept asking whether we were sure we hadn’t received an email. We were told the front desk was in another building, but he didn’t explain that clearly and acted as if missing the instructions was our fault. It wasn’t worth the price at all.

The staff made us feel so welcome, and I got to try two different rooms, each with its own special character. Antika Dimora Hotel made my time in Rome feel like one of the best experiences of my life. Its location was a big part of that: we could wander through Rome’s alleys, try all kinds of food and desserts, and take in the historic atmosphere. Taxi and bus stops were easy to reach too, which made getting to the sights quick. It’s a luxurious, clean hotel, and surprisingly affordable. It really rounded out the time we spent enjoying the city’s attractions.

We booked this hotel for its location, but on our first morning in Rome, road workers woke us up digging outside. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The staff moved us to another hotel a few minutes away and gave us breakfast for free. They were really friendly and handled it so well. I’d happily stay again.

The breakfast was great, and the rooftop view made it even nicer. Our room was clean, the mattress seemed pretty new, and the air conditioning kept things cool. We stayed in Cupida for a couple of nights in early September, and it was very nice for the price. Though the area gets fairly busy, there was very little noise at night. There are lots of interesting places within walking distance, plus a taxi line right outside. The service was excellent, and I’d try to stay here again if I visit Rome.
