Aventino Guest House

We booked in April 2025 for the end of December, so having the reservation cancelled just days before arrival was a huge letdown. Alessandro had messaged me on December 1 saying he’d arrange check-in, which made me feel everything was set. Then on December 22 the property cancelled, saying it was fully booked, even though we’d reserved eight months earlier. I was travelling and missed the automated email because I trusted that earlier confirmation. When I arrived excited for my stay on December 31, I found out the booking was gone, and a staff member wrongly said I had cancelled it. I hadn’t. Luckily, I found a last-minute deal on Trip.com and stayed at the Best Western. The team there turned a stressful situation into a much better one. I’m sharing this because the property’s booking management was unreliable, and I hope nobody else gets left scrambling on New Year’s Eve.

The staff made this stay feel special. They were kind and helpful, kept communication easy, arranged our airport transfer, and even left coffee and cookies in the room. We also had a clean, spacious, comfortable room with all the amenities. The guest house is in a charming neighborhood, just a short walk from the main attractions. It exceeded my expectations, and I’d definitely recommend it.

A modern room with everything we needed, friendly staff, and a good price. The guest house is well placed for exploring Rome. The only snag was the shower pressure.

We really liked the location, tucked away from the noise of Rome’s main areas but still easy to walk to the attractions. Service was wonderful too. The room had a few problems, though: the air conditioning barely worked, so we had to leave the window open for airflow, and the Wi-Fi wouldn’t stay connected for more than a second. The walls are paper thin as well. We could hear the people next door coughing all night. If those things don’t bother you, the location alone makes it worth considering.
