There’s plenty to hear from the restaurants downstairs, so the noise is moderate. I liked the feeling of hearing Italy outside the window and being right in the middle of the city, though, so it suited me. Both rooms I stayed in were spacious and clean, with daily housekeeping. You can walk to lots of local restaurants and lively Piazza Trilussa, and there’s a grocery store and two water fountains nearby for everyday needs. Simone and Patricia were so friendly and accommodating, and made sure we felt safe and comfortable. I highly recommend it and will be back.

The room was quiet at night even though the neighborhood is busy. It was cleaned daily, which you don’t usually get with an apartment rental, and there’s a lift that was a big help with our heavy bags. Simone was a great host, and there’s a shared area for coffee as well as a kitchen. We found the location ideal for getting to great restaurants and bars and experiencing a more local side of Rome. A taxi from Rome Termini made the trip easy.

Trastavere is a fantastic area, but the hotel is in a run-down building. The room felt old, and the mattress was awful, my back hurt a lot. The bathroom was very old and disgusting, with mold everywhere. For what they charge, the place should be much better maintained.

The free breakfast is served at the café downstairs, where locals go, and it also makes a great bar at night. We really enjoyed our stay and I’d love to return. Our room looked onto the street, so it was loud, but it also made us feel part of Rome. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance, and Santa Maria in Trasteverse is close. If you’re after somewhere quaint and authentic, this works well. If you want an upscale place with lots of amenities, it probably won’t suit you.

You can walk all over Trastevere from here, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The building and room are a little old, and the bathroom is too. The bed made some annoying noises, but everything worked and the room was nicely heated. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow and unreliable, though that wasn’t what we came to Rome for. I’d recommend it if you just need somewhere to sleep and keep your luggage.
