Best Location in Rome

I booked a double room two days ahead, but when I arrived at 3am the attendant told me there was no room available. He offered me a room that someone else had used, or said I could wait five hours in reception for the cleaner to arrive and prepare one. We argued, then he made four calls to the manager. After an hour of discussion, he offered me a 20 euro discount plus the 14 euros for Rome's city taxes. The next day he didn't have the money. When I went to collect it, he gave me 9 euros and said the taxes hadn't been part of the agreement. I don't recommend this place. The staff seemed confused and completely unprepared to sort out problems they had caused themselves.

The service from the staff was awful, and I wouldn't recommend the area at all, especially arriving at night. On the first night they sent us to another hotel because there was a problem with our room. In the morning they made us come back, only for us to find the whole hotel without water. They claimed it affected the entire block, but that wasn't true. After we complained and said we'd seek a refund and file a complaint, they moved us to yet another hotel. I absolutely don't recommend staying here.

The place they send you for breakfast was delicious, and the location was great. But the bathroom was covered in limescale and smelled bad. The toilet wasn't firmly fixed, it leaked, and there was constant noise!

Its location is the one advantage. The place was dirty and the service was unacceptable, so I think it was a very bad choice. I wouldn't recommend it.
