Hotel Best Roma

The older woman who worked in the breakfast room was unpleasant, rude, and never smiled. She rushed around our table while we were still eating, went outside to smoke where everyone could see, then came back smelling of smoke. She also spoke loudly in Italian to other staff about the guests. Because of her, I couldn’t give the hotel any stars for service. Otherwise it was warm and welcoming, with friendly, helpful reception staff. The rooms were cleaned daily and had fresh bedding and towels, and breakfast was tasty and good quality. The cakes were delicious 😋

We spent two nights here in October 2025. The older building is lovely, with marble and heavy, old-world timber, and it’s conveniently close to the railway station. Breakfast was surprisingly good, and the staff were adequate. But our room, 201, had hot water for only one short spell across the two days. The bathroom also had drainage and blockage problems. If you want a hot shower and water that drains without leaking, I’d skip this place. The wet areas need some money spent on them.

There wasn’t any hot water in the shower, even on the first floor. The rooms are tiny, the neighborhood feels depressing, and breakfast was very poor. They had no omelet after 7:30am and staff refused to make one. At most, I’d call this a two-star hotel.

The bedding was clean, made up daily, and came with fresh towels. Staff were pleasant, but the hotel needs investment. The photos online are out of date, and it definitely isn’t a four-star place. Breakfast was left out from 7am until it ended, with flies landing on uncovered food. Our air conditioning didn’t work, and after someone spent 30 minutes trying to fix it, we had to change rooms. The lift in our section was out of order. There weren’t enough power outlets, the towel rail and toilet seat were broken, the safe didn’t work, the bottom cleaner was coming off the wall, and everything looked worn. The public toilet was disgusting, with poo around the seat.
